Geoff and Carole Holt founded their pet care business in 1976, in Toronto, Canada.

The business has grown from a single store operation to now providing premium, natural and holistically-based pet food to over 340 pet specialty stores in Canada and the United States (Ontario, Manitoba, Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania and New Jersey).

The first generation of Performatrin® dog and cat food, developed over 20 years ago, represented a significant leap in pet nutrition. Performatrin offered higher- quality nutrition at a lower price, compared to nationally advertised brands. Since then, generations of dogs and cats have been raised on Performatrin, and new formulations have been continuously developed based on advances in nutritional science to meet the needs of your pets. Many breeders, pet lovers and veterinarians rely on Performatrin for optimal nutrition.

In the mid-1990s, Performatrin Natural® was introduced, a specialized fresh lamb and safflower oil formula preserved with Vitamin E, offering protein allergy relief benefits. All Performatrin products are now naturally preserved.

An ongoing commitment to whole pet health led to the launch of Performatrin Ultra in 2003.
